Deborah Lippmann will be backstage at many of the biggest runway shows at New York Fashion Week so when I spoke to her earlier today, I had one burning question: what will be the next big nail trend? "Layering will probably be big," she said. "Also, I'm getting a lot of requests for color--bright color--not nude or buff nails like past seasons."
Deborah paused when I asked about nail art. "I don't do a lot of it but I have to say, a lot of the stuff they are doing is what we started back in the 80s," she said. "Striping tape and rhinestones aren't new. We used to put real diamonds and rubies on nails. Can you imagine how you would feel when your nail broke!"
I was on hand to see five lucky girls get their nails painted by Deborah at the HBO Store in New York City today (they won a contest). Remember when I wrote about Girls collection? The set of four goes on sale this month at Nordstrom and Bloomingdale's for $45.
Have you tried layering your nail polish? Will you buy the Girls x Deborah Lippmann nail collab?
