Legendary makeup artist Kevyn Aucoin passed away more than a decade ago, but his energy still resounds in the makeup industry through his eponymous makeup line. As the brand continues to thrive, it stays true to the beloved artist and his core philosophy: all of the products and shades are timeless, and all about enhancing people’s natural beauty. The new spring collection is no different! The range includes new shades for some of Kevyn’s most universally loved items—The Lip Gloss, The Precision Brow Pencil, and The Flesh Tone Lip Pencil—as well as four brand new lip-and-cheek color compacts. We couldn’t wait to put the new goodies to the test, and per usual, we love everything.
The Flesh Tone Lip Pencil | $25
shop the new shades: Peche, Hyacinth, Bloodroses
The lip pencil was a favorite tool of Kevyn’s, so it’s no surprise to see this cult classic product in three new shades this season. There’s Peche, a light peach with a hint of coral; Hyacinth, a subtle rose mauve-plum; and Bloodroses, the deep, blood red to match Kevyn’s most iconic lipstick shade (and now there’s a lip gloss version, too—see below!). The creamy pencils glide on smoothly, and add dimension for fuller-looking lips.
The Precision Brow Pencil | $26
shop the new shades: Warm Blonde, Dark Brunette
Kevyn believed that brows were the one feature that could completely transform a face, and having color options to match a variety of hair and skin tones only helps. The two new additions to this range are perfect for warm- and strawberry-blondes, and those with super-dark locks. Warm Blonde is a dusty light brown with subtle red undertones; Dark Brunette is a chocolate brown-black. The super-thin twist-up pencil eliminates the need for a sharpener, and the pointed tip makes it easy to apply in small, light strokes. On the opposite end there’s a spoolie brush so you can blend the product out for really natural-looking brows.
The Creamy Glow Duo | $28
We’re all about multi-taskers, and these cream color duos don’t disappoint—each comes packaged in a portable compact. The silky formula is ideal for giving cheeks a nice, subtle glow, or for adding a pop of color to lips. Use the coordinating shades alone or blended together; for a streak-free application use your fingers. Just dot a bit color on cheeks and blend outward, or for lips, lightly dab the color on. For summer, we love Pravella/Janelle, a grapefruit pink and peachy nude and Nuelle/Bloodroses, a light camel-brown-pink and vampy red that are really beautiful on dark skin. But you can’t go wrong!
The Lip Gloss | $30
shop the new shades: Janelline, Bloodroses, Nerinese, Neottiana
Kevyn’s The Lip Gloss is one of our all-time faves for two reasons: it isn’t sticky whatsoever and the applicator is designed to mimic the look and feel of a makeup artist’s pinky finger (it’s patented!). Doesn’t get much better than that! Even better, four colors have been added to the 15-shade range. Janelline, a peppy sheer raspberry color feels so on point for spring. But the others are practical and perfect for everyday use, too. There’s Nerinese, a soft, neutral sparkly apricot; Neottiana, a dusty-rose tan shimmer; and Bloodroses, a sheer auburn red (and the gloss version of Kevyn’s most recognizable vampy oxblood lip color).
