If There Was Ever a Time to Try a Purple Lip, It's This Spring!

So if you're anything like me, one of the most exciting parts of changing seasons is the new and exciting lipstick options that come with them. Warm, deep reds and true nudes get me in the Fall spirit.  Deep, vampy wine and purple shades are enough to get me through the dreary months of Winter, and nothing amps me up for Spring like the bright, nearly neon lipstick shades that start popping up in magazines this time of year. In the spirit of Spring, I decided to do a fun and festive makeup look that's Spring-ready and easy to achieve! Interested? Keep reading.

First, prep your face with your primer of choice and apply your foundation. You can go ahead and apply the foundation first because there is little to no fallout with this look. Next, apply your concealer where you would like a highlighted look. Then set your concealer with a brightening powder to enhance your highlight. Contour or bronze your face, then fill in any sparse areas on your eyebrows.

Using my favorite transition color, Brown Script by MAC, I really smoke the color out in my crease since my eyes are hooded. I then do extra defining in my crease area by applying Sable from the Lorac Pro Palette directly in my crease. To prevent oiliness on my eyelids, I use a setting powder on my lids with an angled shader brush. Using Betrayal from my Urban Decay Vice 2 palette, I add a subtle pop of color to my tear duct. I line my waterline with a black pencil, and then use Gold from my Lorac Pro Palette as a highlight along my lower lash line. To create a cat eye, I use my liquid liner from the Laura Geller Beauty Calligraphy eyeliner set.

Now for the best part - lips! I apply my Heroine lipstick by MAC, and then line my cupid's bow area with a purple lip liner by Lorac. I used a little blush to give a slight flush to my cheeks since the lips are so bright, but that's optional!

Here is a list of everything I used from face to lips:

Face
Eyes
Lips
Lorac Lip Liner, Purple (shop similar)
MAC Lipstick, Heroine ($16)

Thank you so much! I hope you all enjoyed! If you would like to see a video tutorial for this look, check it out here!
