I was lucky enough to be invited to the Debenhams London Beauty Press Show held at their Oxford Street store to preview their new offerings in beauty for the upcoming sunny summer!
Shimmer and sheen was a main theme with a lot of highlighting lotions and creams. Vita Liberata has a range of illuminating skin finishing lotions, tinted and translucent versions. Check out the light capture creams in Gold and Rose for the perfect cheekbone highlights to fake chiseled cheeks. The ever so adorable sweetheart-shaped cheek highlightingtrio powders from Too Faced also made their appearance and the Too Faced Chocolate Bar Shadow Palette must not be overlooked rather, over'sniffed' - it smells delicious! It is exclusive to Debenhams at the present time.
Swiftly moving on to makeup (my fave), the new CKOne cosmetics was stunning. They were housed in modern cases. Their eyeshadows had swing on and swing off tops if you see them you will know what I mean with luxurious finishes. The lipsticks were also very creamy and pigmented. ElizabethArden’s new nautical-inspired collection was a piece of eye candy with their gorgeous jumbo pencil lippies that’s all the rage at the moment. I also previewed the new Illamasqua Glamore collection, I know its been out for sometime but I was not able to check it out before. Cult favourite products were also in display, this being everyone’s favourite bright pink – MAC Candy Yum Yum Lipstick, as well as the rosy Urban Decay Naked 3Palette.
Nails are not left out with the new Gel Effect Polishes from Nails Inc, as well a bucket load of new Essie. I can hear some of you nail buffs are gushing at these! Well I know I am!
Summer skin has to be kept soft and smooth and of course sun protected – as you would throughout the year with Burt’s Bees, BalanceMe, Clarins and Elemis. The Steamcream moisturisers are something new to me and I managed to get a pot of it, stay tuned for the review.
But one thing that's intrigued me the most is perhaps Fashion Fair makeup. This brand has been in the US for some time and its also available from different stores nationwide. They boast a multitude of foundations in different finishes and 19 different shades, made especially for women of colour. This is especially promising for those who are struggling to find the spot on shade of foundation and is perhaps the one brand to check out!
That's a brief whistlestop tour of the upcoming products for the summer at #DebsBeautyBuzz. Thank you Debenhams!
