Every one of us has a bad beauty habit to break. Here are 5 bad beauty habits worth breaking for more youthful flawless skin!
Skimping on sun creams
Only about 50% of us apply creams with sun protection factor (SPF). We all know the effects of sun exposure - quicker ageing, wrinkle formation, hyperpigmented spots, skin cancer. I always go by the saying 'prevention is better than cure'. Although it may appear like sun cream isn't helping at the present, your skin will thank you in the future.
Wear a sunscreen that is at least SPF 30 so even if you apply an insufficient amount, you will still be able to benefit from adequate sun protection!
Lip-biting and lip-licking
Our lips are fragile little beings with super delicate and fine protective layer, thus are prone to chaps and cracks. Licking your lips lets your saliva's digestive enzymes to erode away the lips, and lip biting slows down the recovering process. Big no nos! This is definitely a habit worth breaking.

Touching your face
Believe it or not our fingers are covered with dirt, grease and bacteria that we pick up on our day to day activities. Subconsciously touching your face basically applies these on the face clogging pores, promoting irritation and acne.
Picking at spots
This carries on from the last bad beauty habit. Picking spots delays the healing process, promotes post inflammatory hyperpigmentation and scarring. It also increases the risks of inflammation and makes matters far worse. Avoid picking your spots!
Rubbing your eyes and squinting
The skin around the eyes are fine and very wrinkle-prone. Rubbing your skin challenges its elasticity, which will one day break with your persistence! Instead of rubbing your eyes to remove eye makeup, soak a cotton pad with makeup remover and apply over the eyes, allowing the product to melt away the makeup. Squinting encourages the formation of crow's feet. Be sure to bust out your sunnies in the sunny weather.
