This week’s news features summer nails, new formulations from well-loved brands and very pretty lips.
If you’re in the camp of ‘there’s no such thing as too many nude palettes’ and you’re travelling abroad this summer, then leave room in your hand luggage to pick up Bobbi Brown’s Sandy Nudes Eyeshadow Palette (available from May), exclusive to Travel Retail outlets. The palette contains eight nude shades in a variety of matte, shimmery, sparkly and metallic textures. The colours feature Cream, Ash, Nude, Rich Caviar, Chiffon, Caramel, Champagne and Ash. RRP is £40.46.
I’ve definitely fallen in love with Guerlain’s Rouge G Fall In Rose; in two new collector edition shades and designed by Place Vendôme jeweler, Lorenz Bäumer. The formula contains ruby powder to offer radiant colour, mango for moisture, and guggul resin and tiger grass for collagen. The two new shades Rose Glacé (nude pink) and Rose Grenat (velvety red-pink) cost £33, and will be available exclusively at Selfridges from May.
Celebrating the 25th anniversary of Aveda’s iconic Shampure aroma are the new Shampure Bodycare Collection; a potent blend of 25 pure flower and plant essences, including organic lavender and ylang ylang, chamomile and petit grain. Shampure Hand and Body Wash is a mild, sulphate-free cleanser derived from organic babassu oil, while Shampure Body Lotion is infused with organic olive oil to soothe, soften and moisturise skin. Available from June 2014.
This could be a great alternative to the gel hand sanitiser that I always have in my handbag for when I’m out and about. Lanolips has announced that May will see the launch of its Antibacterial Hand Cream (£8.99). The conditioning and protecting formula contains lanolin and aloe vera, providing a 'liquid glove' protective shield that kills 99% of germs. The hand cream is free from alcohol and does not strip the skin of natural oils.
Also launching soon in May, Ciaté has revealed its latest line, Shell Manicure. Available in three colours, the kits contain a paint pot, real crushed shells and a funnel to capture any excess. The crushed shells should be applied to wet polish before being sealed with a topcoat. RRP is £20 each.
We’ll have to wait until June for the new Lolly Brights by butter LONDON, a collection including six new shades of Nail Lacquer (£12) in Stroppy (metallic purple), Ladybird (bright red), Sozzled (bright green), Chuffed (metallic orange), Airy Fairy (metallic blue) and Jammy (metallic pink).
There will also be three Lippy Lip Glosses (£15) in Chuffed (peach), Twee (fuchsia), and Stroppy (violet); Wink Colour Mascara (£15) in Chav (baby blue) and Cheerio (lemon – REALLY??); Wink Eye Pencil (£14) in Cheerio (lemon), Alabaster Gaze (off white), and Holland Park (deep blue); Cheeky Crème Blush (£17) in Pistol Pink (bright pink), Piccadilly Circus (bright red) and Abbey Rose (rosey coral); Wink Cream Eye Shadow (£14) in Sun Kiss (creamy yellow), Pistol Pink (rose), and Indigo Pink (lilac) as well. Must confess, I can’t see myself sporting yellow mascara – I remember the ‘80s, been there done that, got the t-shirt but hopefully tracked down any photographic evidence!
One of my personal favourite brands Elemis is to launch Pro-Collagen Hydra-Gel Eye Masks, a new eye treatment.. The masks are clinically proven to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and aim to brighten the under-eye area, moisturise and reduce puffiness in 20 minutes. RRP is £46 for six eye masks. Sadly we’ll have to wait until June for these to be available!
