I've had many of you ask me which neutral palettes I think are best. I'm sharing my picks for the best neutral eyeshadow palettes with you today and why I think these are great choices. All palettes included are cruelty free.
Paula's Choice the Nude Mattes Eyeshadow Palette $40 for 12 eyeshadows, .04 oz each
This palette is a limited edition palette that was created by a collaboration between Paula's Choice and Wayne Goss the Makeup Artist. It's made up of 12 shades, 11 mattes and 1 demi-matte that lets you add soft, tasteful, eye brightening shimmer to any look. You can use this for an office professional look, carefree look, or sultry nighttime look. These colors flatter all skintones and there's a nice mix of cool and warm tones. See the colors in action in my video.
Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette $28 for 6 eyeshadows, .05 oz each
This palette is made of 6 full size eyeshadows - 5 mattes and 1 demi-matte. I've used this palette more than any other UD palette that I own because the neutrals in this palette work with EVERYTHING. They've got an amazing, buttery texture. You can make a sexy smoky look with the deepest shades, or give yourself a flattering wash of taupe. And at $28, it's easy on the wallet.
Too Faced Chocolate Bar Eyeshadow Palette $49 for 16 eyeshadows, 14 are .03 oz each, 2 are .10 oz each.
From rose gold Marzipan to golden Creme Brulee, burgundy Black Forest Truffle and deep smoky Candied Violet, this neutral palette offers a lot of versatility. You have workhorse neutral shades like White Chocolate, Salted Caramel (a personal favorite), Milk Chocolate and Champagne Truffle, you've got a ton of options here. Oh and the best part? It smells like chocolate! Check out my video review.
Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette $54 for 12 eyeshadows, .05 oz each
Of the 3 big Naked palettes, I found Naked 3 to be the most flattering for my skintone. Too many brown shades just turn muddy on me, however, the rosy neutrals work well for me. They really bring out my blue-green eyes too. With pale pink, peachy pink, rose gold, copper, and black with pink iridescence, you can have a lot of fun with this palette.
Too Faced Natural Eyes Palette $36 for 9 eyeshadows, 6 at .03 oz each, 3 at .07 oz each
Too Faced creates some of the best gold eyeshaows that I've ever tried. This palette has several shades infused with gold - Erotica, Chocolate Martini and Honey Pot, along with some really fantastic mattes that I find a necessity. I have to use both matte and shimmer in a look. I don't like to use just shimmer, especially for a transition color. These 9 shades work well together and you can mix and match however you like.
Kat Von D Monarch Eyeshadow Palette $46 for 3 at .095 oz each, 9 at .049 oz each
While I don't own this one I did debate buying it because it has a great mix of matte and shimmery shades. They're all warm toned. The peach, gold and copper shades are gorgeous. It's been so popular that it sold out online but it is available in stores at Sephora.
It Cosmetics Naturally Pretty Matte Luxe Eyeshadow Palette $42 for 1 at .064 oz and 14 at .028 oz
This palette has 14 matte eyeshadows and one transforming shade that works with all colors. 12 of the shades are neutrals (warm and cool toned), 2 shades are a little fun - Violet (plum) and Midnight (deep navy). It has anti-aging ingredients in the eyeshadows, too.
