We’re coming up smelling of roses, focusing on skin brightening treatments and nailing summer brights in this weekend’s news digest.
Nailing Summer Brights
Barry M has unveiled new Exotic Summer Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Paints in seven vibrant shades (from L to R) Kiwi, Almond, Elderberry, Coconut, Pink Punch, Olive & Damson. Priced at £3.99 each, they debut in Superdrug on 7 May, followed by Boots on the 14th.
Nail care brand OPI introduces its Neon Nail Lacquers line on May 14. The six shade collection features (clockwise from bottom left) Life Gave Me Lemons, Juice Bar Hopping, Hotter than You Pink, Down to the Core-al, You are So Outta Lime! and Push & Pur-Pull. The brand is also launching Put a Coat On!, a white base coat that boosts neon colour. Priced at £11.95 and launching on May 14.
Skin Brightening
Two new launches announced this week for those concerned with uneven skin tone and pigmentation.
Darphin is adding to its Melaperfect range with Skin Tone Brightening Moisturiser SPF20, designed to give protection, radiance and minimise dark spots. Wheat germ and linoleic acid support the skin's barrier to revive and offer hydration. Trametes mushroom and salicylic acid work on the appearance of dark sports. Melaperfect Skin Tone Brightening Moisturiser will be priced at £49 and launches on May 23.
Meanwhile Elemis will launch their Advanced Brightening Even Tone Serum, which claims to reduce the appearance of uneven pigmentation in just 28 days, using a complex of daisy and pea extracts with encapsulated vitamin c. Available from June priced at £59 for 30mls.
Shine Patrol
Those wanting to keep shine at bay during the warmer summer months, watch out on May 8 for the launch of Illamasqua's Matte Veil primer. The primer gives an instant matte finish by dissolving excess oil on the skin whilst its non-drying formula retains moisture to help keep the skin healthy and balanced. A spatula is provided with the pot for hygienic application to keep bacteria out. Priced at £30.
Smelling of Roses
Chantecaille celebrates its 15th anniversary by launching its beautiful La Crème à la Rose de Mai moisturising cream. It’s infused with pure Rose de Mai Essence from one of the world’s rarest roses, along with Sweet Pea Stem Cells for free radical protection and Matrixyl 3000, the anti-ageing peptide formulation. It launches this month in the UK at £175, having already sold-out on launch in the States. It sounds heavenly.
A more budget-friendly offering comes from Melvita, who are launching their Plumping Rose collection in June. Designed to tackle the first signs of ageing, it use a ‘plumping complex’ of rose and rosehip. The collection comprises Plumping Radiance Serum (£34), which tones and firms the skin as well as smoothing the first signs of wrinkles; Plumping Radiance Duo (£25), offering regenerating benefits to leave the skin smooth, plumped, and hydrated all day; and the Plumping Radiance Cream (£30) which erases the signs of fatigue and ageing, and promises a 45% increase in radiance.
Has anything here caught your eye? Personally, I would love to try the Chantecaille Cream, and the new nail colours definitely make me hope that summer is on its way, despite a no-doubt chilly May Bank Holiday Weekend. Hope you all enjoy yours and do let me know what you think of this week's releases in the comments below?
