Sure, sure, it's spring, so you might suddenly be feeling the need to put your dark lipsticks from fall and winter into hibernation. But you don't have to—you can make them work right now by following Hilary Duff's lead.
She showed up at the Stars Celebrate the ASPCA's Commitment to Los Angeles event sporting dark lipstick that she pulled off for two reasons:
1) She wore her hair in a mess bedhead-y texture. This is important because it kept her whole look lighter, less harsh, and, ultimately more spring-friendly.
2) She lined her eyes with warm gold eyeshadow, balancing the dark lip but not competing with it. Had she gone smoky eye, everything would have look richer and seemed a bit off-season.
