I'm so proud of myself! This is the smoothest ombré job I've ever done and possibly my favorite color combo too. I'm going to chalk it up to polishes that are both smooth and kind of watery two-coaters—perfect for creating an ombré style!
I used a lilac color called NYC Lavender Cupcake as my base coat and created the ombré (following this tutorial) using a baby blue polish named Barry M Gelly Blueberry. Then I topped it with one coat of Seche Vite.
If you want to create some accent nails, here are two ideas. For the striped finger, I applied a few strips of striping tape straight from the cuticle to tip using some nail-art tweezers, then painted over them with a black polish and quickly removed the strips. The glitter on my ring finger is La Femme Purple Glitter. They don't have a website, but any glittery purple polish will work.
What do you think of this manicure idea? Wouldn't it be so fun come springtime? Will you try it this weekend?
