Omojo Fine Line Defense Serum- reader reviewed and rejected

A few weeks ago I received Omojo Fine Line Defense Amino Acid Serum ($15) to try. I checked out the company’s website first, to get a feel for the product and what I could realistically expect. I must say, I liked what I initially saw – a company with the emphasis on products that are natural, paraben and fragrance free, derived from marine sources. Their products come packaged as two part skin care kits consisting of a serum and a dietary supplement, intended to improve skin from the inside and outside. Each item is also available separately. (Note that I only tested the serum.)

Although I have carefully maintained a good skincare routine for several years, it is inevitable that the fine lines show up as time goes by. My areas of concern are the fine lines at the corners of eyes and marionette lines. It is my goal to insure that they do not progress into deeper lines, and to (hopefully) diminish them altogether. Over time, I’ve found serums to work best for me and an ingredient that works well for my skin is hyaluronic acid. With both of these factors present in the Omojo Serum I thought I was off to a good start.

Clear, odorless and having the consistency of a true serum, I found this product applied easily and absorbed immediately without leaving any residue. As directed, I applied the serum am and pm to a cleansed face. A small amount goes a long way and leaves the skin with a matte appearance. (I didn’t use any additional products while using the serum.)

It’s been a month now since I began using the Omojo Serum and, on the positive side, I can say I didn’t have any breakouts. But the true test and the most important aspect is the product performance, which I found lacking. According to the Omojo website this serum is designed to”firm fine lines and maintain vital moisture” and these are the two factors that I have been closely watching to judge its performance. Unfortunately, I can’t say I’ve seen any firming of my fine lines and my skin didn’t appear moisturized during this test, so I have to say this product didn’t deliver for me.
