IT Cosmetics Brow Power Perfector and Brow Vitality Complex

I got it into my head to try an eyebrow pencil when someone asked me if Brow Vitality Complex had to be used at night. Whatever for, I asked, puzzled. She was concerned that the brow growth serum couldn’t be used with makeup. I realized that since I don’t usually use brow pencils, I had no idea and would need to investigate. Then I saw that IT Cosmetics, with a loyal following amongst the Truth In Aging community, had something called the Brow Power Perfector ($24). I jumped on it.

IT’s Brow Power Perfector, which already has a positive review from Nisha, actually played nice with Brow Vitality Complex (I’ll come back to that) and, more importantly, is a great product in its own right.

First, I was pleasantly surprised by the ingredients. Of course, there’s plenty of silicone, but there are also more than enough ingredients to make my brows feel pampered. Some of them may even contribute to healthy brow growth, making Power Perfector the perfect partner for my serum. For example, there’s saw palmetto, a botanical that is associated with hair growth, and biotin, a member of the B vitamin family, that may help hair grow and certainly seems to keep it pliable. Botanical extracts that you might find in shampoo include nettle and horsetail.

In addition, there’s A, C and E vitamins. Collagen comes in both soluble and hydrolyzed forms and there is also hydrolyzed silk. With regular use, these can all help to put an end to brittle brows.

IT Cosmetics promises that Brow Power Perfector will be no-smudge and it lived up to it. Doubtless due to the silicones, there’s more of a gel-like consistency when brushed on than a more typical powdery application. This makes it very easy to control (as Nisha put it, this pencil glides over the brows like butter) and get the desired definition. The applicator also has a spiral brush (like a mascara wand) that helpfully tames stragglers and evens out the color.

I was very happy to discover that I could apply Brow Vitality Complex with its emu oil and copper peptides first, give it a moment to settle and then later use Brow Power Perfector. Brow Vitality Complex has, over time, helped darken the color of brow hairs to the shade of a more youthful me. In addition, IT gives brows an even sweep of color and depth, as well camouflaging any patches. A perfect pair.
