I was so honored to be asked by the MIMI, who writes the fabulous Haute MIMI, the internationally acclaimed fashion, beauty and lifestyle website, to be interviewed as her Fashionista Of The Week.
MIMI is also an expert on Social Media and her clients count on her to keep their brands on the tip of our tongues. I was delighted that she also chose to include two of her favorite Polyvore sets that I created. IMO, Polyvore is the next great platform for Social Media, since in addition to the millions of monthly views it generates among worldwide fashion lovers, product is available to purchase through links to the worlds' largest shopping site.

Fashionista Of The Week: Debbi O’Shea, Founder, Diva Debbi Fashion Blog
By MIMI on 21 Jan 2013
HM:Describe your style in one word.
DD: Glamorous!
HM: Who is you favorite fashion designer?’
DD: Gilles Mendel. I think he has a fantastic eye for creating wearable drama. He cuts to flatter an woman’s assets and his fabric choices are always exciting and unexpected. In terms of fur, no one designing today has Gilles unique modern aesthetic. If you are going to wear fur, you don’t want it to look like you inherited it from your Grandmother.
HM: What is your dream travel destination?
DD: A week in Paris shopping eating and devouring the museums followed by a week of plopping at a glorious spa on the Amalfi Coast…A Girl can dream, can’t she?
HM: What would you pack if you could only bring one item?
DD:My Michael Kors black jersey halter jumpsuit. Timeless, packable and chic.
HM: What makes you feel glamorous?
DD: I love having my makeup and hair done professionally for any occasion. Isn’t it spectacular what a good set of false lashes can do? And try as I might, my version of a smokey eye is never as flawless and blended when I attempt it. I love to dress up and have an amazing collection of cocktail attire. If I get to top it off with fur and some statement jewelry I’m completely in my element.
DD: I do facial exercises twice a day and often perform them when I am driving, and it’s not pretty, lol. But truly, they work. I don’t understand why people think it makes sense to tone their bodies, but leave their faces blobby.
HM: What advice would you give to those who are aspiring to make it big in the fashion industry?
DD: Be patient and pay your dues with a smile. We all did the unglamorous, tedious stuff in the beginning. Oh, and don’t call in sick and come in with a new haircut the next day. Been there done that…nearly got fired!
