Oscars 2016 After-Party Hair and Makeup Transformations You Need to See
We already showed you the best beauty trends from the 2016 Oscars red carpet, the prettiest eye makeup looks, and a directory of all our favorite lipsticks of the night. Now, it's time to dissect the after-party looks, and where else would we look other than the Vanity Fair Oscar Party? Oscar winners (go Leo!), nominees and attendees alike flocked to the venue all dolled up for the second time that night.
In typical celebrity manner, multiple leading ladies not only arrived in a completely different dress, but a whole new hair and makeup look. It's always astounding how the hair and makeup wizards are able to pull off such a quick-change beauty transformation. Nonetheless, these stars were able to swap their red carpet looks for loosened after-party ones. Check out our faves:
Best Actress Brie Larson switched out her sleek half updo before the after-party for loose waves and a deep side part.
Vikander won our hearts with her Best Supporting Actress win, but ultimately won the night when she arrived at the Vanity Fair after-party with relaxed strands and a clear center part.
It was Teigen's braid that first had us in awe, but her chic low-bun was equally as gorgeous on the mom-to-be.
The most dramatic change of all, Munn pulled her hair back into a high pony and exchanged her coral lipstick and bronze smokey eye for green-lined lids and a nude lip gloss.
Klum's classic, loose waves were her go-to post-Oscars. An easy exchange following her piecey, low bun she sported during the award ceremony.
Already rocking darkly-lined lids, the Scandal star added a bit more winged liner for a light cat-eye after presenting the award for Best Picture.
After sporting green eye liner and a matte lip during the Oscars award ceremony, the Spotlight Supporting Actress nominee, Rachel McAdams, added some lip gloss and a darker shadow for her night time look.
Lawrence opted for quite the deep smoky eye at the Vanity Fair after-party, which coupled with her platinum, chopped 'do, gave her a much edgier vibe.

Burn Survivor Shows the Power of Makeup With 1 Incredible Transformation
Though we can all attest to the powers of makeup in hiding our blemishes and trouble spots, one woman shows that accepting yourself for who you are is the most powerful act of all. Shalom Blac runs a YouTube channel dedicated to teaching women about makeup, but unlike other beauty vloggers, her past as a burn survivor gives her a unique perspective of the industry.
One of Shalom's most popular videos shows half her face covered in cosmetics (a nod to the "power of makeup" trend) while the other half bears scars she received from a frying oil incident when she was younger.
"Life after the accident wasn't what I thought it would be," the 20-year-old makeup artist said to BuzzFeed. "I was stared at by kids and older people whenever I stepped out. I felt like a living statue that people came to see."
The bullying she faced only subsided once she started learning how to apply makeup. She points out that even though it brings her joy, the act of covering her scars isn't what defines her or makes her content. Instead, happiness comes from loving "both sides" of her face equally - one with makeup and one without. She also isn't afraid to share a multitude of before-and-after makeup snaps to prove her point that she's beautiful no matter what.

the pantone color(s) of the year has a way of permeating my subconscious. the 2016 hues - rose quartz and serenity - are no exception. suddenly, i can't resist soft pink and sky blue. for the moment these colors seem timeless. might as well buy an entire wardrobe in these shades and paint the whole house to match, because i just know i'll love them forever. it's hard to imagine they may seem dated 2017, but, in 2012 i probably thought i'd love tangerine forever. with that in mind, makeup seems like a great, low commitment way to incorporate these au courant colors.
dolce + gabbana have a luxurious lipstick and nail lacquer that make a hint of rose quartz an even more intriguing proposition. i've been sitting on samples of their rosa matte lipstick in dolce rose and nail lacquer in bonbon for a couple of weeks. i finally had the chance to test them this past saturday. my husband took over the care of our sweet baby for a few hours and sent me the local nail spot. i took along my bottle of bonbon and finished off the visit by applying my new lippie.
both are a pop of pastel pink that, despite being a soft, is distinct. my manicure has caught a few eyes and shade name requests. the two colors pair perfectly together, and lipstick has that divine rose scent expensive lipsticks sometimes have. perhaps for now this is the perfect amount of rose quartz.

Jennifer Lawrence Glowed Brighter Than an Oscar at the Academy Awards
There were tons of gorgeous beauty looks at the 2016 Academy Awards, but one star in particular really stood out to us: Jennifer Lawrence. She typically opts for simple, classic hair and makeup for the red carpet, and tonight was no different. There's something to be said for knowing what works on you and sticking to it!
That said, as the temperatures start to rise outside, one look at her platinum asymmetrical bob and luminous, sun-kissed skin gave us serious Summer beauty inspiration. (Is it just us, or is her golden complexion more flawless than an Oscar's?)
