For many women who love toying around with different hairstyles, the faux bob is obviously a popular choice—you get to rock a whole new look without an ounce of commitment! I played around with this look the other day, and while doing so, learned a few little things that make faking a shorter do a tad bit easier:
1) Double up
If you have a lot of hair, split your strands into two loose ponytails on each side of your head. (Secure it with a snag-free clear elastic towards the ends.) Trying to do it with just one pony turns out to be a little harder than it seems.
2) Roll it
Sandwich each ponytail between both forefingers and roll it up until you reach the nape of your neck, which is where you'll insert your pins.
3) Speaking of...
Be sure to use actual bobby pins. U-shaped hairpins don’t grip as well and they may cause your strands to slip, totally ruining the illusion.
