This Iconic Fashion Editor Is Getting Into the Fragrance Game
A photo posted by Vogue (@voguemagazine) on
Since stepping down as the creative director of Vogue, Grace Coddington has been keeping busy. In addition to releasing two books, she's joining the beauty industry! The legendary editor is partnering with fashion house Comme des Garcons on a new fragrance, Grace by Grace Coddington.
Though we have yet to snag a sniff, there's one thing about the perfume that stands out to us immediately: the bottle. Fans of the iconic redhead know that she has a long-standing cat obsession, and she's immortalized the feline figure into this elegant flacon. In fact, that cat-eared cap is inspired by one of her own sketches.
According to Vogue, the juice is loaded with timeless notes like peach blossom and white musk, but the heart of the scent is amber crystal–spiked Moroccan rose. "My mother had a rose garden, and it just never occurred to me to smell like any other smell except rose," Coddington told Vogue.
Whether Coddington is your idol or you're a bona fide cat-lover, this scent is worth stashing in your collection. Snap it up when it hits counters on April 19!

7 Body Powders to Try If You're Avoiding Talc
Talcum powder has been making headlines lately, but it's not a new ingredient. It's been used for centuries and can be found in a slew of consumer products, from dry shampoo and blush to baby powder. But what is talc, exactly? It's a mineral that is made up of silicon, oxygen, and magnesium and is meant to absorb moisture (therefore preventing rashes). In its natural state, talc can contain asbestos, which is a known carcinogen - but according to the American Cancer Society, commercial products containing talc have been asbestos-free since the 1970s.
However, the controversial ingredient has been linked to cancer when it comes to feminine hygiene. Though findings have been mixed, some studies report that women who use talcum powder in the genital area could be at a higher risk for ovarian cancer. It is said that powder can travel through the vagina into the ovary, but none of the findings have been concrete.
Remember: it's always best to talk to your doctor about any concerns you have regarding products you use on your body. However, if you're looking to avoid talc but still want to sprinkle on something to absorb extra moisture, we've got you covered! Read on to shop talc-free body powders.

How to Find Your Wedding Day Glam Squad
Besides your spouse ( . . . and family and BFFs, of course), your wedding day hairstylist and makeup artist are two of the most important people you'll have by your side before exchanging vows. Not only do you want professionals who understand and can execute your vision, but it's also important to find artists you feel comfortable around and trust.
After doing extensive research - 10 years of writing in the beauty industry helped! - and forming tight-knit relationships with talent, I found the perfect team for my own nuptials. Because I couldn't have been happier with my wedding day glam squad, I spoke with them to get advice on how everyone can have a positive experience.
Before you start your search, know this: hairstylists and makeup artists who work with brides are of a rare, special breed. Not only do they love working in high-pressure environments, but the best ones also know how set the tone for a fun, relaxed day. I learned quickly throughout my trials that energy is almost as important as skill.

Parents Surprise Boy With Circus Trip And It Backfires Spectacularly
A father's attempt to surprise his 4-year-old son with a trip to the circus horribly backfired after he led the boy to believe they were going to a broccoli farm instead.
As an adorable video shows, he should have stuck with the cover story.
In less than 10 seconds, little Max goes from greeting his dad with an excited smile to tossing his head to the side with audible disappointment when he hears the news.
"Aw, I wanted to go to the broccoli farm," Max moans.
"But Max, there's elephants!" his dad coaxes -- to no avail.
Max, with tears welling up in his eyes, remains fixated on seeing some broccoli, to the point where his father promises to not only buy him some at the grocery store but to find a broccoli farm to visit next time.
The video, titled "Max really wants to go to the broccoli farm," soared on social media Sunday, gathering thousands of views and hundreds of comments on Reddit.
"As someone who's never been to a broccoli farm, the idea sounds very appealing," one Reddit user wrote.
"Beet farms are way better," wrote another.
Tears aside, in the end, it appears that little Max got the upper hand of dad’s surprise: a trip to the circus and a future visit to a broccoli farm.

#DemonWeave: Why Women Are Convinced Their Hair Extensions Are Cursed
There are many reasons that hair extensions have a cult following. They can enhance finer strands, act as protective styling on natural coils, and add length to a mane that refuses to grow. But some weave aficionados are starting to avoid their beloved sew-ins for a bizarre reason: they believe the hair to be cursed.
A spree of weave-related thefts and murders in Memphis, TN, caused local news outlet NBC-WMC to investigate the dangerous world of hair extensions. The journalists' research revealed that many are convinced that the cause for these hair-raising crimes has a darker origin. A search for "cursed weave" online results in a bevy of personal accounts from women about how their hair extensions have led them to be possessed.
"[Whoever's] hair I was wearing on my head, that heifer had a bad omen and that bad omen followed her from India and came on top of my head, and I took on her spirit," said YouTube user BBWKristy Love. Some think that the hair becomes bewitched during the Hindu ritual of tonsuring. This is a religious custom for which women shave their heads entirely at a temple, then donate their strands to God. This hair is often collected and sold to create weaves.
While many of the wearers of these extensions are convinced that they may have purchased "a person's hair and their demonic spirit," some are skeptical. Members of the Christian community in Memphis don't believe that demons would inhabit wigs. "That's from animistic beliefs . . . religions and cults that practice this concept of evil spirits taking possession of evil things," Dr. Bill Adkins, pastor at Greater Imani Cathedral of Faith, told WMC.
Anyone who has tried hair extensions knows that their attitude changes once they see their new look, but is confidence in your style really a sign of being spellbound? If that's the case, we're pretty sure our whole cosmetics collection is possessed, because we have feelings once we achieve a chiseled contour or perfectly defined cat eye.
